Trial Use¶
Kyushu University Research Institute for Information Technology (RIIT) offers a Trial Use program for users who are considering using the Center’s research computing systems.
This program allows prospective users to verify in advance whether their intended programs or software can operate properly on Genkai.
※ The Trial Use program is limited to academic use only.
Available Resources¶
- Node Groups: A, B, C (shared type)
- Allocated Resources: 40,000 points
- Large-capacity Storage: 1 TB

Application Procedure¶
1. Create a Portal Account (if you do not have one)¶
If you do not yet have a portal account, please create one using the following link:

2. Submit the Application Form¶
Please fill out and submit the following form with your name, affiliation, contact information, and purpose of use:

3. Review of Application¶
Your application will be reviewed to confirm that the purpose and method of use are appropriate.
Please note that your request may be declined based on the review results.
4. Issuance of Supercomputer Account¶
After approval, the Center will create a project and issue a supercomputer account for you.
Usage Report¶
Within one month after the trial period ends, you will be notified of a form to submit a usage report.
Please note that the contents of your report may be published on this website.
Continued Use¶
If you wish to continue using the system after the Trial Use period ends, you may transition to Regular Use (with usage fees).
Please submit an “Extension / Restart” application through the Usage Application Portal.
You can continue to use your existing account, group, and files without any changes.
Notes¶
- In principle, multiple applications for the same computing system are not permitted.
- This program is intended for users who are considering using the Center’s research computing systems.
Users who are currently using or have previously used the systems (excluding ITO) do not meet the qualification requirements. - Applications may be declined if the purpose or method of use is deemed inappropriate.

If you are identified as a “Non-resident” or fall under “Specific Category”, additional screening procedures are required, which may take approximately one additional month.
