スーパーコンピュータ利用 "超" 入門 講習会シリーズ開催のお知らせ
今までスーパーコンピュータを使ったことのない方や、
あまり使い慣れていない方、新たな使い方に挑戦してみたい方を対象に、
・スーパーコンピュータには何ができるのか？
・スーパーコンピュータはパソコンとどう違うのか？
・スーパーコンピュータの性能を引き出すには何をすればいいのか？
といったことを知っていただくための講習会シリーズとして、以下の
５種類の講習会を開催します。
いずれもスーパーコンピュータ玄界を実際に使った実習を含みます。
この機会に、スーパーコンピュータの性能に少し触れてみませんか？

スーパーコンピュータが大規模な計算を高速に処理する仕組みを紹介し、
その性能を生かすためのプログラムの種類と使い方を説明します。
・並列プログラム（OpenACC）超入門
9月2日（火）・11日（木） 13:00 - 17:00
GPUを使って容易に並列計算を行うことができるOpenACCの使い方を紹介します。
・並列プログラム（OpenMP）超入門
9月12日（金）・17日（水） 13:00 - 17:00
1台の計算機に搭載された多数の「CPUコア」を使った並列プログラムでよく用いられる
OpenMPという並列プログラミングモデルを紹介します。
・並列プログラム（MPI）超入門
9月24日（水）・26日（金） 13:00 - 17:00
主に、複数台の計算機で構成された「クラスタ型」並列計算機向けの並列プログラムでよく用いられる
MPIという通信インタフェースを紹介します。
・機械学習超入門
10月7日（火）・15日（水） 13:00 - 17:00
機械学習の基本的な考え方を解説し、スーパーコンピュータ上で代表的なフレームワークを用いた演習を行います。

※ただし、「9月2日開催分（並列プログラム（OpenACC）超入門）」のみ 4F第一会議室

■参加資格
どなたでも参加できますが、C、C++もしくは Fortranでのプログラミングの経験があ
ることを前提とした内容となっています。

・ログインのテスト
開催の2日前までに準備資料をお送りしますので、それにしたがって、
事前に玄界にログインできることを確認してください。

・当日の受付時間は開始時刻の 15分前からです。
・テキスト(電子データ)は当センターで用意します。

Notice of Supercomputer Usage Introductory Workshop Series
This workshop is designed for those who have never used a supercomputer before,
those who are not very familiar with them, and those who would like to try new ways of using them.
• What can a supercomputer do?
• How do supercomputers differ from personal computers?
• What steps are required to maximize the performance of a supercomputer?
We will host a series of workshops to provide answers to these questions and more.
The following five workshops will be held:
All workshops include hands-on training using the Supercomputer Genkai.
Why not take this opportunity to get a taste of the power of supercomputers?

・Getting Started with Supercomputers
September 1 (Mon) & September 5 (Fri), 13:00 - 17:00
An introduction to how supercomputers process large-scale computations at high speed,
and the types of programs and usage methods that leverage their performance.
・Introduction to Parallel Programming with OpenACC
September 2 (Tue) & September 11 (Thu), 13:00 - 17:00
Learn how to use OpenACC to easily perform parallel computations using GPUs.
・Introduction to Parallel Programming with OpenMP
September 12 (Fri) & September 17 (Wed), 13:00 - 17:00
An introduction to OpenMP, a parallel programming model commonly
used for utilizing multiple CPU cores on a single machine.
・Introduction to Parallel Programming with MPI
September 24 (Wed) & September 26 (Fri), 13:00 - 17:00
Explore MPI, a communication interface widely used
for cluster-based parallel computing across multiple machines.
・Introduction to Machine Learning
October 7 (Tue) & October 15 (Wed), 13:00 - 17:00
Understand the basic concepts of machine learning and gain hands-on experience
using popular frameworks on a supercomputer.

・Obtaining a Portal Account
Participation requires a Genkai portal account.
If you do not yet have one, please apply via the following URL:

This account is valid only during the workshop period and will be disabled after the session ends.

Preparation materials will be sent two days before the workshop.
Please follow the instructions to confirm that you can log in to Genkai in advance.
■Notes
・Reception opens 15 minutes before the start time.
・Electronic materials will be provided by the center.
・Staff may take photos during the event.
These may be used in promotional materials by the Information Infrastructure Research and Development Center.
